PROFESSIONAL ART SOCIETY OF STANFORD

Reilly Clark co-founded the Professional Art Society of Stanford to build a robust community of arts and humanities students. The Professional Art Society of Stanford gives students direct access to mentors and hands-on experiences curating exhibitions and organizing arts events. Reilly worked closely with the Berggruen Gallery, Jessica Silverman Gallery and Pace Gallery, as well as the local Christie’s office and several museums in the Bay Area. His favorite project, Badlands, focused on Indigenous land rights and environmental justice. Reilly worked with artists from around the Bay Area students to create site-specific work. He enjoys working in challenging exhibition space and chose the O’Donohue Family Educational Farm for Badlands, presenting exciting curatorial, installation and conservation opportunities. He was lucky to work with the award-winning Indigenous photographer, Josué Rivas, as well as many talented artists and student curators.

For his last project with the Professional Art Society of Stanford, Reilly brought Teju Cole to campus for a lecture and private workshop with freshman arts and humanities students. Conversation ranged from photography to Outsider Art, writing and the creative process to museums and institutions and much more.
